The # symbol is often called the hash symbol and is used in coding. It also in American English is the pound sign. It connotes general heaviness. Kind of like many of us after Thanksgiving dinner. IT work often feels unnecessarily heavy. IT work shouldn’t be a heavy experience for either the client or the technician.

If you have ever stood in line holding a computer for repair at one of those giant box stores or had a condescending conversation with a geeky “expert” then you’ve experienced part of the less than great aspects of IT repair. WAITS wanted to create a completely different service model for doing IT. Why?

The current model generally doesn’t work that well. WAITS exists to solve IT/IS problems for you! Our goal is to solve problems that have already occurred and hopefully to proactively prevent some future problems from occurring. We want radically satisfied customers that are the best advocates for others to use us!

How we do it differently

One of the greatest IT minds of the 20th century was Steve Jobs. His famous “think different” inspired the WAITS way. The current IT/IS model generally occurs only after you have a problem. Just like most of us generally only see a doctor after you’ve already had some symptoms show up. WAITS wants to change the system. We have created a think different model that identifies your future IT problems hopefully before they occur and proactively solves them. We also fix the current ones with our personal care, security focus, and mutually profitable pay it forward model.

WAITS wants to break the IT mold that frankly kind of stinks. We strive to do IT all and we do IT all differently than our competitors.

(1) We are personal. We will travel to you or you can travel to us. We want you to enjoy the experience. We are your neighbor and we want to treat you neighborly. If we can’t fix your problem on site then we will pick up your equipment where possible and deliver it back to you fixed. We also offer mail in solutions if travel is prohibitive. We want to bring a neighborly service back to IT. Also we don’t charge for the time it takes to initially troubleshoot, talk with you, or charge for copying/backing up data after starting a backup. Why? We don’t think that’s right. We will give a time estimate during the free consultation and contact you if it will take longer before beginning. We are treating you how we want to be treated.

(2) We are secure. We use a recording system using video and/or audio to record our interactions. It allows for a fully transparent interaction. We also use an update system that lets you know exactly what we are doing with your system and when we are doing it. If you do a review and let us use video to post part of the interaction then we will discount your total bill. It allows us to show off our satisfied customers.

(3) Mutually profitable pay it forward. What makes WAITS different besides the exceptional personal service and security? It’s that we are a for profit that is not just for our profit. All our revenue goes into our 40/30/20/10 business model. 40% pays employee cost, 30% goes into company overhead, 20% goes into local charities, and 10% contributes to a national charity voted on by our customers. You support the community when you do business with us. You help employee your neighbors and support their families, build a local business, support your community, and better your country. We want to thank you by making it mutually profitable where possible.

(a.) Customer loyalty. We are big advocates of paying it forward. If you give us a lead that turns into a future satisfied customer then you and they will get a discount. We always offer free up front consultation.

(b.) Flat Fee Option. We charge $50.00 for personal computers the first hour and $25 for each additional hour. We roll into the first hour our travel cost up to 30 miles round trip from our office if we come to you. We charge $60 dollars for business computers and $35 for each additional hour. Most repairs can be done in 1-3 hours. We are available 10 AM to 7 PM EST via phone or text.

(c.) Monthly/Annual Options. Remember what we said earlier about preventive solutions? We offer a monthly free check up via phone or web. This option has no charges other than the monthly or annual fee. If you start out with the flat fee and want to go forward with a monthly or annual option then we will discount your first month or annual plan. Monthly/Annual plans also have a 24/7 phone number for emergency cases. General response time is less than 15 minutes via phone or text. Our monthly/annual plan also includes us calling you at a predetermined time to check on your IT/IS needs.

  1. Personal Plan Monthly 29.95 a month or $299 a year.
  2. Small business Plan (less than 15 employees) 49.95 or $499 a year. Small businesses that refer another small business sign up for a year service gets both of you a 39.95 or $399 a year deal.
